Your Discount Tag Heuer WatchThere are watches for all sorts of sports but the TAG Heuer collection has captured the need for speed in automobile racing. Since the early 1900’s Heuer has built instruments for people and dashboards and sporting events. The Solunar (1949) kept track of tides. The Film Master (1963) used by film directors to time film sequences. The Aquagraph (2003) was the first chronograph with buttons that could be activated underwater. The Ring Master was designed to have the rings of scale changed depending on the sport. The heart of Heuer really lies in auto racing: The Carrera, Monaco, Autovia, Camaro, Montreal, Silverstone, Ferrari, Daytona, Formula 1, and the SLR Mercedes Benz editions.
The basic collections are: The Grand Carrera, Monaco, Carrera, SLR Mercedes Benz, and Formula 1 collections were all made in honor of car racing. Grand Carrera is unique because it incorporates the rotating system derived from race cars so that the watch hands are more like discs on a dashboard. The Monaco is the first water-resistant square cased watch in history. Aside from the innovation, it has been made legendary by Steve McQueen. The Carrera is a tribute to the race, “Carrera Panamericana” and is offered to both men and women. The SLR Mercedes Benz is sporty watch with 3 counters (laptimer functions, and two retrograde flyback counters at 1/100 and 1/10 accuracy), and a perpetual “retrograde” calendar until 2099. Race car driver Fernando Alonso contributed to the design of the Formula 1. Rugged and sporty looking as any racing watch should be. The Aquaracer was designed to fit the demands of water sports with water resistance up to 300 meters, countdown timers for the Regatta model and elapsed and split-time functions for other sports. The Aquagraph model goes down to 500 meters and is equipped with an automatic helium valve. This is for some serious diving. The Link Watch collection combines sport and elegance. This is my favorite because I can wear it to dressy occasions as well as when I am racing down the highway. The Golf Watch designed by Tiger Woods for to meet the requirements of golf professionals. The Microtimer does not look like your typical racing watch because of it’s contemporary design but it is every bit as rugged as the Formula 1 collection. This was designed with Formula 1 in mind including the lap timers, split timers, lap memory, best lap calculation and dual time zone display. This feature rich watch is one of my favorites.
