The Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph has a simple and clear layout that is easy to read with three sub dials positioned at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. A small date window is perfectly positioned between the 4 and 5 o’ clock positions. Each hand is completed with a polished finished and the numerals are depicted using a clean and crisp font. Each hand and hour is marked with a thin luminous line that will ensure that even during the dark the precise time is visible in a practical and efficient manner. The slightly larger than normal 43mm wide case with an associated thickness of 14.5mm sits beautifully on the wrist, facilitated by the downward angle on the belt lugs. The case is mirror polished on most of the visible surface, with some contrast near the inner aspect of the lugs. The sapphire crystal is slightly domed and blends beautifully with the black face. Unusually the anti-glare coating provides a hint of green in the light as opposed to the traditional blue or purple tint.

Elements of this exquisite Montblanc Watch are ceramic including the bezel and the crown. All the chronograph buttons are stainless steel and have a very solid feel to them, when activated for use. The crown has a lovely black texture for ease of grip, when adjusting the watch. The date is not set from the crown but via a discreet button in the 10 o’clock position on the side of the casing.

Flip the watch over to find the crystal back secured by six screws. Clearly visible is the 4810/502 mechanism, now a real mainstay with the Montblanc range. Water resistance rating is up to 30 meters and extraordinary efficiency comes with the 27 jewel mechanism.

Finally this masterpiece of design is secured safely on your risk with a range of well designed and complementary straps. The one we’re reviewing is a thick alligator skins black tang buckle strap that feels very secure on the wrist. An alternative to the leather strap is the traditional stainless steel and ceramic bracelet. It’s easily adjusted to accommodate the smallest wrist and resizes quickly by removing the pins.

Overall this MontBlanc watch is rugged and versatile and will complement the wearer in both formal and casual wear. Clean and crisp design adds to the elegance and classic engineering ensures years of trouble free wear.
